Systab - Смолы

Systab 's technical managers have over 15 years of experience in the consolidation of soils and foundations with injections of expanding resins and are able to design and implement interventions in full compliance with the current Technical Regulations for Construction (Ministerial Decree of 14 January 2008).‎ It is a technology suitable for: - consolidation of foundations and recovery of buildings damaged by differential subsidence - improvement of the load-bearing capacity of soils in view of elevations - consolidation of deepened floors - filling of cavities - seismic improvement and mitigation The injections are carried out in the support plane of the foundation and arrive to affect, as necessary, the entire tension bulb induced by the overlying structure and influenced by its geometry.‎ The process is carried out by drilling holes approximately 25 mm in diameter through the walls and the foundation to be consolidated.‎ The slow process and expansion of the RESINS used achieves a real physical transformation of the foundation soil, significantly improving its shear resistance and compressibility characteristics.‎ Systab 's exclusive system produces a slow and continuous action on the soil concerned thanks to the controlled thrust of the RESINS (on average no more than 5 kg per square centimetre); the application of higher pressures, in fact, induces dynamic actions that may be incompatible with the soil matrix itself and negatively affect the dissipation of neutral stresses, hence the durability of the effects.‎ Polyurethane RESINS are materials that have been known for over 50 years, the first polyurethanes were put on the market in 1956! They are therefore chemically well known products that can guarantee STABILITY AND INALTERABILITY OVER TIME! In particular, the RESINS used by Systab have physical and mechanical characteristics specifically designed to achieve long-lasting consolidation results and excellent behaviour in the subsoil where they are to perform their function.‎ Polyurethane RESINS have been used for soil and foundation consolidation for over 20 years and intensively since 1999.‎ Here are the main characteristics of the RESINS used by Systab: - general characteristics: synthetic, thermoplastic, bi-component resins; - controls and certifications: the materials used are chosen case by case according to the needs of the individual site (a high expansion resin is not always the best choice, nor is a high density one) and are subjected to specific controls by Laboratories authorised by the Ministry of Public Works, following the standards laid down for rigid cellular plastics; - chemical stability and resistance to imbibition: in the subsoil the RESINS has no enemies, stable in the presence of water (or other liquids) the resin does not undergo ageing effects and is naturally not bio-degradable; - mechanical strengths: in the soil, shear and compressive strengths vary on average between 22 kg/cm2 and 50 kg/cm2 (values determined according to UNI 807080 and UNI EN ISO 844:09), the dimensional stability tests, according to Standard UNI 8069:80, show average percentage variations of less than 0.‎04%; - environmental compatibility - SYSTAB RESINS are non-polluting and non-toxic, the injected products comply with current environmental regulations (D.‎Legislative Decree 152/2006).‎ Expected results The intervention, therefore, provides for the improvement of the geotechnical characteristics and the homogenisation, in terms of geomechanical resistance, of the bottom substrate: in this way, the resistance is sufficient to counteract the stresses transmitted by the overlying structure and to annul future differential subsidence.‎ The results obtained on the ground are mainly of an increase in horizontal and vertical stresses in the elasto-plastic regime; this increase, thanks also to the slowness of the process, translates totally into an increase in effective pressures due to the drainage of neutral pressures.‎ The possibility of injecting resins and mixes with different characteristics (high density or strong expansion as required) makes it possible to obtain: - very high resin diffusion in all geotechnical conditions; - very high degree of compaction, even in clayey (cohesive) soils with very low permeability; - high reduction of the void index and therefore of compressibility; - optimal values of final mechanical resistance of the resin even in the presence of macroscopic cavities; - homogeneous mechanical resistance of the resins.‎ Thanks to the more than 15 years' experience of its technical managers, Systab is able to propose.‎ interventions with blowing RESINS custom-designed for the specific case and checked with special pre- and post-injection tests, which ensure DEFINITIVE CONSOLIDATION RESULTS.‎
