In Italy, slabs have been widely used since the 1930's, but they became more widespread in the 1950's, coinciding with the building "boom", due to the need to build homes as quickly as possible and at the lowest possible cost. Due to the shortage of raw materials (especially steel) and poor design and construction scruples, the slabs in question sometimes show performance deficits. Compared to current requirements, they are inadequate due to their low load-bearing capacity or due to the absence of a reinforced load-distributing slab.
TECNARIA rung and plate connectors have been designed for this specific application. The system of constructing a new slab connector to the existing slab is often the most economical and logical solution.
Technical description
The TECNARIA peg screw and toothed plate connector for concrete reinforcement consists of:
A) A hardened 10.9 steel shank, Ø 14 mm, 15 mm hexagonal head and dummy washer, Ø 12 mm threaded body.
B) A steel plate with a rectangular base, toothed, 60x50 mm, 4 mm thick. The peg connector and base plate come together due to their special shape.
Specification item
Galvanised screw peg connector and toothed base plate for concrete reinforcement. Element composed of a hardened steel 10.9, Ø 14 mm shank with washer and hexagonal head 15 mm, threaded body Ø 12 mm with a truncated cone section at the beginning of the threaded part that allows the insertion of the stabilising plate, with a central hole measuring 60 x 50 x 4 mm folded on two sides.
