TIGRIS K5 is the new PPSU (polyphenylsulphone) fitting for multilayer pipes developed by Wavin.‎ It offers all the features that have marked the success of its brass counterpart Tigris M5, and is aimed at thermal-hydraulic operators who prefer fittings with a plastic body.‎ TIGRIS K5 represents the natural evolution of the Tigris K1 fitting and has been designed by Wavin, European leader in the supply of plastic piping for residential, non-residential and civil engineering works, taking the suggestions of installers and applying them at every stage of the development process.‎ Ideal for Potable water or heating systems, TIGRIS K5 is characterised by a body in PPSU, a latest-generation technopolymer that ensures high performance in terms of resistance to high temperatures, corrosion and mechanical stress; it avoids the formation of limescale deposits and is fully compliant with the most stringent European drinking water regulations.‎ But the TIGRIS K5's most distinctive feature is the ACOUSTIC LEAK ALERT function, which allows plumbers to identify incorrectly pressed fittings even more easily and quickly.‎ If air testing is preferred, as an alternative to the water pressure test, the installer will be able to immediately detect a failed pressing thanks to a whistle of approximately 80 decibels emitted by the fitting.‎ At the same time, the TIGRIS K5 prevents many of the possible negative effects that characterise testing with water, such as the risk of Legionella formation and proliferation and frost damage typical of the winter months.‎ TIGRIS K5 is perfect for every type of operation thanks to its MULTI JAW profile and offers secure connections regardless of the type of jaw used.‎ The fitting developed by Wavin is compatible with most of the jaw profiles available on the market, i.‎e.‎ H, TH, B, U and Up, ensuring an even easier transition for the plumber to the new system.‎ The innovative OPTI FLOW design is one of the highlights of the TIGRIS K5, making it the radial press fitting with the widest internal passage (+50% compared to the previous Tigris version).‎ The result is a marked improvement in flow performance and very low pressure drops, making the installer's work even easier and safer, even in the longest sections of the system.‎ The new fitting developed by Wavin also retains the Leak Free functionality for water tests, ensures 360° visibility of the correct insertion of the pipe thanks to the IN 4SURE technology, makes calibration unnecessary (EASY FIT) and further facilitates installation by keeping the pipe in position, up to 2 metres vertically, even without pressing (PIPE GRIP).‎ As with its brass counterpart, the TIGRIS K5 fitting will be available in numerous configurations, in diameters from 16 to 40 mm, to ensure maximum versatility in all types of installation.‎ Product features: - MULTI JAW: compatible with the main jaw profiles on the market - OPTI FLOW: internal passage increased by up to 50% - ACOUSTIC LEAK ALERT: whistle in case of air test and fitting not pressed - LEAK FREE: in case of water test, clear visual loss if the fitting is not pressed - EASY FIT easy insertion of the hose, calibration is not necessary - IN 4SURE: 360° visibility of the correct insertion of the hose into the fitting - PIPE GRIP: easy installation, the hose stays in place (up to 2 m length) without being pressed - ULTRA SEAL: maximum reliability with leak test at 110° - DIAMETERS: 16, 20, 25, 32, 40 mm - MATERIAL: polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) - PROFILES: H, TH, B, U, Up
