Lowered lintels (12.4 cm instead of 25 cm) are ideal for making openings (up to 2.5 m) in non-load-bearing interior and exterior masonry from 12 to 48 cm thick. Ideal for 12 and 15 cm thick internal masonry, lowered lintels are mainly used for single-layer external infill masonry. Thicker than 15 cm are obtained by placing several elements side by side; any small differences can be compensated for with insulating material placed between the lintels. Lowered lintels, unlike other 25 cm high reinforced lintels, can be flexibly cut to the required length. This will further improve the homogeneity of the thermal insulation around the opening in the wall. The low height of the elements allows for easy manual handling. In the case of a shutter box, it is possible to compensate for the different thickness of the shutter box with respect to the wall, by placing a lowered lintel next to the shutter box, on the inside or outside, depending on the project.
More than 100 years ago, in 1923, architect and researcher Dr. Axel Eriksson invented "vapor-vulcanized gas concrete" in Sweden - now known as autoclaved aerated concrete. Together with Carl August Carlén, an entrepreneur, they started the first production in 1929 in Yxhult, southern Sweden, at a time of great scarcity of raw materials and stricter energy laws.
A competitive advantage on the market
The sustainability of buildings is increasingly at the center of construction trends, with modern sustainability policies undertaken by international institutions and organizations that have favored the increase of this trend.
The choice of materials and construction technologies are fundamental to obtaining homes that consume less and consequently have a lower environmental impact.
A sustainable home can cost on average 8% more than a normal home, but this difference is compensated by numerous advantages in the long term: a healthier and more comfortable environment, significant economic savings compared to bills and a higher value of the building; It is estimated, in fact, that the value of a green property can increase from 2 to 10% with sales times halved from 8 to 4 months.
