ETICS / EIFS provide exterior walls with an insulated finished surface and waterproofing in an integrated composite material system.‎Fiber glass mesh is necessary to reinforce the thin layer of coating applied on the insulation panels before finishing.‎ Variations of outdoor temperature, shrinkage of the coating material during drying and displacement of insulation panels may produce cracks and clefts on the surface of the system.‎ Fiber glass mesh solves this problem ensuring resistance and stability.‎ Gavazzi produces several types of mesh for this purpose.‎ Among them, Art.‎ 0140-A and 0160-A first passed all tests carried out according to the ETAG 004 Guide issued by EOTA (European Organization for Technical Approvals), and then obtained a Quality Mark by ITC (Institute for Building Technology).‎ The Quality Mark attests that the Factory Production Control actuated by Gavazzi properly ensures a consistent quality of the product.‎ Use: the mesh is laid from top downwards on a fresh layer of mortar and then completely covered with the same material.‎ The sides should overlap by at least 10 cm.‎ Blisters and wrinkles must be carefully avoided.‎
