The electrical insulation tapes are made with glass fiber yarns treated with a special silane finish, which guarantees optimal bonding to epoxy or polyester resins.
For particular applications, the "heat cleaning" treatment (caramelization) is available.
The main uses of the product are:
- Insulation of electrical cables.
The dielectric properties of glass are exploited, for example, in the insulation of transformer coils and cables in asynchronous motors.
- External reinforcement of fiberglass tubes.
Among the various applications, we highlight the external wrapping of PVC and MOPLEN pipes and the production of particular glass-epoxy pipes.
- Insulation of alternators, stators, transformers and superconducting magnets.
