General Admixtures - MICRO - PROOF
In the field of structural waterproofing, General Admixtures offers a wide range of technologies for the realization of efficient, definitive and cost-effective solutions. The MICRO-PROOF System is developed around the homonymous crystallizing additive, available both in the version for mass use (MICRO-PROOF) and in that applicable superficially on existing structures (MICRO-PROOF MF).
These products are able to react chemically with water and free lime present in the cement matrix to form a network of insoluble crystals that obstruct the porosities and micro-cracks inside the material. The result is a significant reduction in the permeability of concrete, which thus becomes totally impermeable to water, while retaining the permeability to steam.
Principal features
• Concrete waterproofing in both positive and negative thrust.
• Reduction of commissioning activities with elimination of waterproofing coatings or membranes.
• Permanent structural waterproofing.
• Protection of the structure from environmental attacks.
• Remarkable resistance to severe actions such as chlorides, aggressive waters, etc..
• Healing effect of the structure over time.
• Increased mechanical strength of concrete over time.
The healing power of MICRO-PROOF remains over time. In the absence of water, in fact, the product remains latent indefinitely in the cement matrix. If, for whatever reason, a micro-fissure (up to 0.5 mm wide) should form and through it water should enter, MICRO-PROOF would crystallize immediately, sealing it in the bud.
