The new version EDIPLIN 3.‎0 aligns with the latest Italian Technical Standards for Construction (Ntc18) and opens up to the EuroCodes, effectively extending the programme's area of applicability on an international scale.‎ At the same time, the programme is enriched with new functionalities that extend its modelling capacity and increase its performance, as we will briefly illustrate in this sheet.‎ New standard systems available The programme now provides two new options for the technical calculation standard: the Italian Ntc18 and the EuroCodes.‎ As a detailed standard for shafts, EuroCode 2 has been added, which introduces verification techniques based on "strut & tie" models, which are also recommended by the Ntc18 (§.‎ 8.‎4) for the design of squat elements, diffuse zones and regions with strong geometric and load discontinuities (nodes, supports).‎ The choice of the normative system can be made with the menu option Data | Normative context.‎ Generalisation of verification limit states To allow use in different normative contexts, the definition and management of verification limit states has been reorganised and made more efficient and general.‎ Two definition tables are now available: the first concerning the combination factors of the actions, the second the safety factors to be assumed on the materials and the options for activating the verifications.‎ Please note that the programme sets the values and options according to the indications of the selected standard, so that direct user intervention in the two grids shown in the figure is generally not required.‎ Any autonomous settings are reserved for expert use, to define normative contexts not yet explicitly contemplated in the programme or to deal with special cases: for example to consider more restrictive factors or to activate a particular verification on limit states where, according to the standard, it is not strictly necessary.‎
