Independent tests have shown that Leadax has the same waterproofing properties as traditional lead and can be applied by hand even in the most extreme weather conditions.‎ It is available in longer rolls and various widths, which means it is quicker to install.‎ Leadax also leaves no stains on the tiles and is guaranteed for 20 years.‎ It consists of aluminium foam covered on both sides with a layer of modified polyvinyl butyral.‎ The material has a removable protective film on both sides.‎ Unlike conventional waterproofing materials of this kind, LEADAX contains no heavy metals and is not harmful to health or the environment.‎ It is mainly composed of PVB.‎ PVB is the foil used in laminated glass (e.‎g.‎ car windows or safety glass).‎ Leadax is lighter than lead and therefore easier to use.‎ It is available in strips of longer length, so that larger areas can be sealed with less overlapping, saving material and time.‎ It is available in lead grey, terracotta, black, copper and other colours on request.‎ The rolls range in height from 15 to 100 cm.‎ LEADAX can be installed as: - Waterproofing in the cavity of walls (including ventilated walls).‎ - In the intersection between the chimney and the roofing membrane.‎ - At the base of the chimney to provide protection against water infiltration.‎ - At the base of skylights and dormer windows as a waterproofing layer in the joint between the side walls of the dormer window and the roofing membrane.‎ - As a watertight connection between an external wall and a roof extension.‎ - LEADAX can be used as guttering, in roof compluves and as a waterproofing under ridge.‎
