SILTE
Special system for acoustic correction silencers are distinguished, depending on the different applications, into baffled and cylindrical silencers.
Baffled silencers control and reduce airborne noise transmitted through ventilation ducts, cylindrical silencers reduce noise emissions produced and/or transmitted by gaseous fluids in industrial plants.
Baffled silencers
These silencers, also classified as baffle silencers, are of considerable importance in ventilation and air conditioning systems, both civil and industrial.
They control and reduce airborne noise transmitted through system ducts or keep noise emissions to the outside environment within permissible levels. They offer little resistance to the passage of air flow and are therefore used when acoustic intervention is required while maintaining the air passage necessary for the system to function properly. They are applied to any type of existing system by means of appropriate, made-to-measure fittings; they can be used indifferently for both air intake and exhaust.
The special aerodynamic structure of the baffles and the high quality of the sound-absorbing materials used ensure that the silencers have minimal pressure losses and high levels of sound attenuation.
The material from which the silencers are made is not hygroscopic, does not encourage the development and formation of spores or bacteria, and is not subject to corrosion by atmospheric agents. The baffles are inserted in a structure made of galvanised sheet steel, of adequate thickness, with appropriate reinforcements that guarantee perfect solidity to allow use even in the most severe conditions. Flanges are provided at the ends for connection to the ducting. Baffle silencers are available in 27 standard sizes and, on request, can also be constructed with customer-specific dimensions and characteristics.
Cylindrical silencers
These are straight circular duct silencers. They are suitable for reducing noise emissions produced and/or transmitted by gaseous fluids (air and/or exhaust gases) along the ducts of intake, exhaust or air conditioning systems in both civil and industrial environments. They differ from baffle silencers essentially due to the different shape of the ducts on which they are installed.
These silencers are divided into two series with different efficiencies:
C series: Cylindrical metal element with internal lining of sound-absorbing material and perforated protection plate.
CO Series: Metal cylindrical element constructed like the previous one and with the addition of a concentric sound-absorbing ogive that increases the acoustic efficiency of the silencer.
Both versions are available in a wide range of sizes thus proportioned:
Length = 1 times the diameter
Length = 1.5 times the diameter
Length = 2 times the diameter
They are fitted with flanges for direct connection to the fan rather than to the system duct. In the case of industrial applications such as gas discharge chimneys to the external environment or for high temperatures, they can be manufactured with specific coatings and with the metal structure made entirely of stainless steel.
