AF JOINT

AF JOINT is a fire-resistant joint cover certified to EI 180 in accordance with standard EN 1366-4 for the protection of vertical and horizontal expansion joints with nominal dimensions between 30 and 600 mm.‎ The system is also certified to EI 120 in accordance with standard EN 1364-4 for the protection of openings between floor slabs and curtain walls.‎ The product consists of a semi-rigid, oriented-fibre mineral wool strip, coated on both sides with a white intumescent coating.‎ Thanks to the orientation of the fibres, AF JOINT can be slightly compressed during installation.‎ The presence on both sides of an industrially applied fire-resistant coating also ensures a ready-to-use product that complies with test certificates, eliminating the need to paint the strips on site and to verify the uniform thickness of the coatings.‎ The certified installation method – i.‎e.‎ where the product is directly exposed to fire – allows it to be fitted at any height within the opening into which it is installed, thus enabling work to be carried out from above in cases where access from below is restricted.‎ Further info from manufacturer on AF JOINT AF SYSTEMS
