BRUGG PIPE SYSTEMS COOLMANT®
COOLMANT® is a pre-insulated pipework system for district cooling networks, chilled water and process waste water.
The rigid COOLMANT®
COOLMANT®system complements the flexible Coolflex system; with diameters up to DN 400, it enables the construction of large-scale installations, facilitating the development of district cooling at city level.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- The service pipe is made of PE 100 polyethylene and the thermal insulation is CO₂-based PUR.
- It is suitable for operating temperatures from - 20°C to +40°C and a nominal pressure of PN 16
- Areas of application include district cooling networks for the construction of branch lines and user connections, connection to geothermal probes, and the pre-insulated transport of drinking water and chilled water.
Innovative Coolmant e Coolflex district cooling systems
The Coolmant eCoolflex flexible pipework systems are BRUGG’s solutions for the construction of district cooling systems for the industrial and water supply sectors. These innovative systems are the result of BRUGG’s decades of experience in the design and manufacture of pre-insulated pipework.
The inclusion of a certified high-density polyethylene (HDPE) inner pipe, high insulation values (thanks to a minimal thermal conductivity coefficient) and the high thermal efficiency resulting from the compact structure of the insulating polyurethane foam cells are the key features that make COOLFLEX® and COOLMANT® the leading pipes in the district cooling sector.
Furthermore, the outer sheath provides adequate protection for the pipework against any mechanical damage. Both solutions can also be installed at external temperatures close to 0°C.
Reliability and durability
The high structural integrity of COOLFLEX® and COOLMANT® prevents water from seeping in along the length of the pipe in the event of external damage. Both pipes are self-compensating: length changes caused by temperature variations are absorbed by the pipe’s structure.
Finally, the systems offer excellent chemical resistance and are ideal for use with glycol or other additives.
Ease of installation
COOLFLEX® and COOLMANT® are quick and easy to install, thanks to their small external diameter and the option of supply in very long lengths. This allows the size of the trench required for installation to be reduced, speeding up the progress of the works.
applications The flexible COOLFLEX® system can be used in the construction of small and medium-sized cooling networks, in domestic connections, housing estates and hotel complexes.

Maximum flexibility
The extreme flexibility of both systems facilitates the design of a district cooling network that can be adapted to any terrain. The corrugated outer sheath of the COOLFLEX® adapts to all excavation conditions, ensuring efficiency, narrower excavation cross-sections, shorter runs, less material wastage and reduced construction costs.
Easy and reliable connection
The COOLFLEX® and COOLMANT® systems can be connected to the rest of the network using a wide range of joints. The BRUGG PIPE SYSTEMS catalogue features electrofusion fittings and sleeves, as well as mechanical clamp joints with threaded ends.
The insulation of COOLFLEX® pipe joints is provided by special, patented ABS shells. Installation is quick and easy thanks to the quick-release clips and the pre-measured polyurethane foam insulation, which ensures the system is hermetically sealed.
