BRUGG Pipe Systems, a leading supplier of piping for the plumbing and industrial sectors, presents the FLEXWELL® CRYO PIPE ideal for transporting cryogenic liquid gases.‎ The pipe is flexible, double-walled and insulated by means of a high vacuum.‎ Super insulation is achieved through a highly reflective polymer foil and spacers in the vacuum chamber.‎ The adoption of these technologies allows efficient and safe conduction with very low heat losses over the entire length of the pipe.‎ Special stainless steel reinforcement bands wrapped around the outer pipe ensure pressure stability, mechanical strength and risk-free installation.‎ The vacuum cavity can also act as a safety containment, as the outer pipe is designed to operate at the same maximum pressure and protected by the metal reinforcement bands.‎ The pipeline consists of two concentric stainless steel pipes, corrugated with a helical profile and cryogenic insulation in the cavity.‎ The last layer is made of a PE protective coating.‎ The pipe is designed to work with a maximum pressure of 25 bar (PN 25).‎ Maximum pressures at temperatures below -200°C are available on request.‎ Working pressure and temperature LNG and other applications: PN 25 (DN 15 - DN 32) 30 bar (DN 40), -200°C to +50°C.‎ Working pressure and temperature for liquid hydrogen: up to 20 bar -255°C.‎ The pipe is available with standard characteristics and nominal diameters from DN 15 to DN 40, up to a maximum of DN 200.‎ Other diameters can be produced on explicit request.‎ The main features of the solution are: supply with almost infinite length.‎ Time-saving due to easy installation.‎ No welding required on site.‎ No need to insulate joints on site.‎ No compensation.‎ The corrugated conformation compensates for thermal expansion.‎  Maximum efficiency and minimum heat loss.‎ Fast planning, no need for mm isometric calculations.‎ Safe piping: with leak detection system.‎ Flexible piping: no need for prefabricated 'elbow' fittings.‎ Anti-corrosion coating.‎ Fields of application The hose can be used in all areas where a high standard of tubing is needed for the transport of liquid cryogenic gases, such as: LN2 Liquid nitrogen.‎ LAr Liquid Argon.‎ LOX Liquid oxygen.‎ LH2 Liquid hydrogen.‎ LHe Liquid Helium.‎ LNG Liquid natural gas.‎ Installation and connections The solution can be installed either underground or above ground.‎ The unique corrugated geometry of the inner and outer pipe ensures maximum flexibility and compensation for thermal expansion / contraction.‎ Different types of fittings are available, all in stainless steel (1.‎4404/AISI 316L or 1.‎457/AISI 316 TI), welded and tested in-house.‎ The fitting ends with a weld that can be adapted to any type of pipe on the market, by means of a flange or threaded connection.‎  Further info from manufacturer on FLEXWELL® CRYO BRUGG PIPE SYSTEMS
