URETEK ITALIA - Химическая барьерная система
Flaking plaster? Damp spots? Mold and stains on walls? Rising damp is a common problem that occurs in historic and recently constructed buildings. This phenomenon occurs when water in the ground is absorbed by the masonry.
Uretek intervenes by injecting a creamy emulsion based on silane monomer into existing compact stone, brick, tuff, concrete, and mixed masonry, including those of historical and artistic value, or recently constructed, affected by rising damp. This creates a horizontal, hydrophobic chemical barrier.
The barrier interrupts and/or reduces rising damp from underground elements through a horizontal barrier, without compromising the breathability of the masonry.
When and why should you treat rising damp?
Preventing Rising Damp
Rising damp occurs when water in the ground is absorbed by the walls through the capillaries of the materials (such as brick or stone). The Uretek chemical barrier creates a waterproof barrier within the masonry, preventing the water from rising further.
Protecting Materials from Deterioration
Water carries mineral salts that, when deposited inside masonry, can cause damage such as:
- Salt efflorescence (formation of white crusts on the surface)
- Plaster flaking
- Material failures caused by salt crystallization or freeze-thaw cycles
Improvement of Internal Conditions
Moisture in masonry causes:
- Mold formation
- Increased internal relative humidity, which can worsen living comfort and air quality
- Aesthetic and structural deterioration
Effectiveness Compared to Other Interventions
Compared to other solutions, such as mechanical cutting of the masonry or the use of waterproofing membranes, the chemical barrier is less invasive and more economical. It is created through injections of waterproofing resins or gels that penetrate the capillaries and solidify, creating a continuous barrier.
Preservation of Historic Buildings
In historic buildings, where it is important to preserve the original aesthetic and structural appearance, a chemical barrier is preferred because it does not require significant destructive interventions.
Uretek's intervention to stop rising damp
The Uretek solution is particularly suitable for compact masonry made of:
Natural stone
Brick
Tuff
Concrete
Mixed masonry, even in buildings of historical and artistic value.
