LECA® is theexpanded clay suitable for substrates, roofing, filling, lightening, insulation and concrete construction.‎ Leca® is a lightweight aggregate which, thanks to its cellular structure enclosed in a clinkerised bark, optimises the relationship between weight and strength.‎ Its use is extremely interesting in the construction of thermal insulation due to its certified low thermal conductivity value (λ = 0.‎09 W/mk).‎ Leca® is a lightweight aggregate that does not contain organic materials or their derivatives.‎ It does not rot, does not degrade over time, is resistant to acids, bases and solvents and retains its properties.‎ When subjected to frost, it does not crack or soak.‎ It is practically an eternal material.‎ It is non-combustible (Euroclass A1).‎ The origin of the product, together with an environmentally friendly production process, allows the Leca® expanded clay lightweight aggregate to be an eco-friendly product and ANAB-ICEA certified for green building applications.‎ ADVANTAGES Lightweight Leca® is a lightweight aggregate which, thanks to its cellular structure enclosed in a clinkerised bark, optimises the relationship between weight and resistance.‎ Thermal insulation Leca® is insulating and does not deteriorate over time.‎ Its use is extremely interesting in the construction of permanent thermal insulation due to its low λ-value of thermal conductivity.‎ Fire resistant Leca® has "Euroclass A1" and is classified as non-combustible.‎ Clinkerised at 1,200 °C it is virtually indestructible even against the most disastrous fires.‎ It is used as a raw material for fire-resistant or refractory products.‎ Compression-resistant Thanks to its compact and crushproof outer skin, Leca® has excellent compressive strength.‎ With a low dosage of cement, Leca® granules are bonded together, resulting in lightweight concretes suitable for bearing loads on non-structural building substrates and components (floors, partitions, ballasting).‎ Leca® Strutturale is used to produce lightweight structural concrete in accordance with the law.‎ Acoustic insulation The cellular and porous structure of Leca® contributes to good noise absorption: ideal for soundproofing and sound-absorbing structures such as road and rail barriers.‎ Easily workable Leca® binds well with cement and is easily mixed in normal concrete mixers.‎ Leca® products are nailable and sawable.‎ Inalterable and durable Leca® contains no organic materials or their derivatives.‎ It does not rot or degrade over time, even under extreme temperature or humidity conditions.‎ It withstands acids, bases and solvents well and retains its properties.‎ When subjected to frost, it does not crack or soak.‎ It is, in practice, an eternal material.‎ Natural and ecological Leca® does not contain or emit free silica, fibrous substances, Radon gas or other harmful materials, even in the event of fire.‎ It is an ecological and natural product.‎ Ecobiocompatible Leca® is certified by Anab-ICEA for Bioarchitecture and has obtained the relevant environmental product declaration EPD.‎ Laterlite is a member of GBC Italia (Leed Certification).‎ Further info from manufacturer on LECA® Laterlite
