MARSALA
Leather fireside chair
Marsala is a leather armchair.
Conceived by Michel Ducaroy in the 1970s and edited at the time by Ligne Roset, Marsala returns today as part of the collection, reasserting its role as an iconic piece of contemporary design.
The model stands out for an essential yet expressive architecture: an enveloping shell defines the seat and supports generous seat and back cushions, creating a warm and harmonious, yet structured silhouette. This shell, a central architectural element, gives the model a strong graphic presence in space. Depending on the versions, it can transform into continuous armrests or become a chaise longue or bench, offering versatile and refined compositions.
Originally made of Altuglas, the shell is now reinterpreted in stained beech plywood, a more sustainable material and in line with Ligne Roset's commitment to environmental responsibility. Made in a single piece even in the larger versions, it integrates solid wood feet that harmoniously extend its lines.
The program includes an armchair, sofas, and ottomans, all also available as a chaise longue or armless bench. With this re-edition, Ligne Roset celebrates an emblematic piece of Michel Ducaroy's creativity: Marsala, with its balance between comfort and welcoming shapes, confirms its iconic character and timeless modernity, perfectly suited to contemporary interiors.
