Ligne Roset
TOGO
4 seater sofa with removable cover
An icon of design for over fifty years, Togo asserts itself as one of the most emblematic models of Ligne Roset and its era. Conceived by Michel Ducaroy, it profoundly renewed the concept of seating, proposing a model entirely in foam, without a rigid structure, in close contact with the body and the floor.
The incomparable comfort is based on a structure entirely made of foams of different densities, combined with generous quilting. Free of rigid points, it envelops the body and adapts to every posture, from the most relaxed position on the floor to a more upright seat. This direct relationship between form and use constitutes the very essence of the model.
Available in a wide range of fabric or leather coverings, Togo lends itself to various interpretations, from the boldest to the most timeless, crossing generations without losing relevance.
Togo buttons are completely customizable and can be made in marine leather, available in eight colors. They are produced by Ictyos, a company that combines the traditional know-how of a French tannery with an eco-responsible approach: it enhances fish skins from the food industry by transforming them into high-end marine leathers. With vegetable chrome-free tanning in Lyon, these leathers are naturally hypoallergenic, traceable, and extraordinarily resistant. An innovative and sustainable approach that gives each button a unique, elegant, and responsible character.
The TOGO collection is Ligne Roset's most iconic and well-known collection. The sofa in the TOGO series, the progenitor of the entire collection, was designed by Michel Ducaroy, inspired by the shape of a rolled-up toothpaste tube, so that it is characterised by a series of wrinkles reminiscent of a Shar-Pei dog. When it was first presented at the Salon des Arts ménagers in Paris, it won the René-Gabriel prize for its 'innovative and democratic' design.
Today, it is still considered the Ligne Roset sofa par excellence. After more than fifty years and more than a million pieces sold in 72 countries, this design furniture icon embodies a contemporary and informal lifestyle. In 2020, TOGO became a complete collection of polyurethane foam seating including armchairs and two-seater sofas, with a new structure integrating recycled and recyclable materials.
TOGO can only be reupholstered by a specialist in the Ligne Roset workshop.
