ARGÉLIO® is formulated with structural expanded clay, which has considerable mechanical strength, making it possible to obtain lightweight structural concrete with low specific weight.‎ In addition, depending on unit weight and compressive strength requirements, mixtures of expanded clays and natural aggregates can be used in the composition.‎ The volume mass range of ARGÉLIO® extends from 1,200 to 2,000 kg/m3 and also allows the use of pumps for casting.‎ In addition to its lightweight qualities, the vitrified honeycombed nature of the expanded clay granules on the inside, but closed towards the outside, ensures good impermeability, volumetric stability, greater durability and thermal insulation.‎ Applications ARGÉLIO® is indicated in cases where the design requirement imposes, in addition to obtaining a specific compressive strength, a lower weight of the structure.‎ The performance obtainable in terms of mechanical strength is similar to that of traditional structural Concrete, but the lower specific weight of ARGÉLIO® makes it possible to broaden the range of applications from renovation works in general to the restoration of historic buildings, the construction of works on low bearing capacity soils and construction in seismic areas.‎ Examples: - collaborating screeds on slabs, roofs and terraces - filling cavity spaces in masonry work Advantages - excellent mechanical strength - easy to lay with normal construction site equipment - good workability - laying speed - dimensional stability
