VERMICULITE MEDIA with a grain size of 1 - 6 mm for agricultural use
VERMICULITE MEDIA is a mineral belonging to the mica family. It is a product of natural origin that undergoes an irreversible high-temperature heat treatment and is expanded, losing its combined water by vaporisation and becoming extremely light (95 +/- 20 kg/m3) and insulating.
After the expansion process, the vermiculite is sieved to obtain a product with a fine grain size of between 1 and 6 mm, characterised by a neutral to slightly alkaline pH.
Thanks to its lamellar structure, VERMICULITE has a high water storage capacity, is an excellent drainer, and also guarantees good exchange and accumulation of nutrients.
Being a porous material and an excellent thermal insulator, it also protects root systems from thermal changes and guarantees their oxygenation, keeping the temperature of nutrient solutions constant.
Given its nature, it is also rot-proof, sterile, chemically inert and free of pathogens, maintaining its characteristics and performance over time.
Loose mineral aggregate.
