CalleaDesign FRANZ Wall-mounted MDF clock

FRANZ revisits the language of classical clockmaking through a large yet light composition in which Roman numerals are transformed into graphic elements.‎ The open structure allows the wall to breathe and visually reduces the weight of the object, while the central vertical band crosses the composition and breaks the symmetry of the circle with a clear contemporary sign.‎ The contrast between the reference to tradition and the essential construction allows FRANZ to engage with different interiors without belonging entirely to either a classical or a minimalist language.‎ Colours and finishes help define the relationship between structure, numerals and central band, changing its character without altering the recognisability of the design.‎ FRANZ preserves the memory of the traditional clock, but lightens it and brings it into a new geometry.‎ Further info from manufacturer on FRANZ CalleaDesign
