GRID interprets the dial as a surface to be decomposed through lines, engravings and geometry.
The traditional sequence of hour markers gives way to a system of broken signs that cross the surface according to a logic that is abstract yet readable. Time emerges from the graphic structure of the dial without the need for conventional indexes.
The square form reinforces the rigour of the composition, while the depth of the engravings and the relationship between finishes introduce movement and variations of light.
Colour can accentuate or soften the design, modifying the relationship between surface and sign without compromising the clarity of the whole.
GRID thus transforms the measurement of time into a visual grid suspended between geometric order and abstraction.
