TYPOLOGY OF WORKSThe
GEOMECCANICA (Rock Mechanics) software
allows you to assess the stability of rock slopes by searching for possible failure kinematics.
The software takes into account both the effect of the water table and the effect of earthquakes in the calculation.
The software then analyses the following issues:
Representation and processing of the detected discontinuity systems;
Detailed analysis of failure kinematics;
Classification of the rock mass;
Determination of the instantaneous Mohr-Coulomb resistance parameters.
CALCULATION METHODS USEDThe
representation of the positions of the discontinuity planes is carried out, by the programme, by means of spherical, equatorial or polar projections.
In addition, it is possible to use area-preserving project
ions
(equireal project
ions
) or angles (equiangular projections).
The determination of the main discontinuity families is obtained by processing the orientation data in a frequency programme. For counting falling poles in cells, one can opt for the circle-counting method. The software proposes the use of the Markland Test or the Harrison & Hudson Test to quantitatively identify discontinuities representing slip planes in a rock slope. For the evaluation of the safety coefficients of probable failure kinematics (planar, wedge-shaped, direct overturning) the software uses the limit equilibrium method.
INPUT
DATA GEOMECCANICA (Rock Mechanics) software requires the following data
-
lay of the face and related geometric data
- lay of the discontinuities
- main discontinuities
- definition of specific fracture kinematics
- parameters for the classification of the rock mass through the Barton and Bieniawski methods
- seismic characterisation of the site under examination
RESULTSThe
results proposed by the GEOMECCANICA (Rock Mechanics) software
are the following
:
- statistical analysis and kinematic possibilities for the analysed discontinuities
- results concerning the specific kinematics and those determined by the programme as a function of the assigned discontinuities
- Barton and Bieniawski classification of the analysed rock mass
- instantaneous Mohr-Coulomb parameters according to Hoek-Brown and Barton
Each displayed drawing can be printed out on any Windows® managed device. Print management is by means of a preview or pagination function.
Export to
DXF, BMP, WMF and JPG format is also possible.
Generates an accurate report in customisable RTF format that allows the user to select upstream the forms to be generated, the report format, etc.
The programme has context-sensitive help and a manual in PDF format.
