The LUGEON programme enables the determination of permeability through boreholes by injecting pressurised water. It is generally used for the evaluation of hydraulic conductivity in rock masses.
LUGEON - Permeability TestsThe
LUGEON programme allows the determination of permeability. through boreholes by introducing pressurised water. It is generally used for the evaluation of hydraulic conductivity in rock masses.
CALCULATION METHODThe
LUGEON programme uses the hypothesis of laminar motion for the determination of in-hole permeability, interpreting the data of several measurements taken as a function of the LUGEON Units.
INPUT
DATA
For each test, at a fixed height, measurements are taken keeping the inlet pressure constant, and the data required by the LUGEON programme for each pressure step are as follows
- Water inlet pressure read via the pressure gauge
- Volume of water inlet at constant pressure
- Hydraulic load
- Time interval for which the pressure is kept constant
OUTPUT
DATA
Results proposed by the LUGEON programme are as follows:
- Hydraulic pressure drop for each measurement carried out
- Permeability for each measurement carried out
-
Permeability representative for the test, depending on the LUGEON Unit trend
