CDM Dolmen
IS PALIFICATE is the new CDM DOLMEN software for the design of entire piles in accordance with NTC 2018. IS PALIFICATE performs the calculation of foundation piles, allowing the choice between driven, drilled, continuous helical, screw and micropiles; it also performs the calculation of the mobilisation curve and settlements, performs structural and geotechnical verifications, and applies the safety coefficients provided for by the Standard.
IS PALIFICATE
IS PALIFICATE is the new and innovative module of CDM DOLMEN that allows for the complete design of piles; it is based on the experience gained over the years with the previous IS Piles software, successfully used by numerous designers.
In the software, the pile types that can be analysed are the driven post, drilled post, continuous helical post, screw post and micro-pile, and can be made of materials such as concrete, steel, etc.
The designer can choose between different correlations for the evaluation of the basic load-bearing capacity (among the implemented methods are those of Jamiolkowski and Lancellotta, Reese and O'Neill, Berezantzev, AGI and those based on penetrometric tests), lateral load-bearing capacity (among the proposed theories are Reese, Meardi, Bustamante and Doix, Kulhavy, Meyerhof, ...) and transverse strength (Broms, .....).
Coloured indicators express the applicability of the various theories according to the type of soil and pile, and an automatic function chooses to use only those correlations considered appropriate for the case in question.
IS PALIFICATE can carry out the calculation with all available theories and evaluate the average value, the weighted average, the maximum value or the minimum value calculated.
This software automatically applies the safety coefficients required by the Technical Standards for Construction 2008, depending on the load cases and the type of pile. It communicates directly with CAD 3D Structure (DW1) and with Is Piles, importing the position of the piles and the necessary load cases.
IS PALIFICATE performs mechanical verifications of the pile in the ultimate limit state (compression, shear, peak load, ...) as well as verifications in service (maximum tension, cracking, ...), depending on the type of construction.
IS PALIFICATE calculates the settlement of the piles, using transfer curves provided by the user, or, in the absence of these, taken from technical literature according to the type of pile and soil; group settlement is evaluated using the interaction factor method (Poulos).
In seismic cases, in addition to the appropriate structural requirements (sections in the elastic range, minimum reinforcement), the possibility of liquefaction of the most superficial saturated layers is also checked.
IS PALIFICATE automatically creates a calculation report in HTML, Word® (.doc) or text format (.txt), and generates the tables with the reinforcement executables.
DOLMEN allows the soil-structure interaction in the elastic field to be considered for mixed foundations, i.e. composed of surface foundation elements (the rafts) and deep foundation elements (the piles), using the geotechnical modules Is HyperFond and IS PALIFICATE, in cascade from the 3D CAD Structure.
In parallel to the discretisation of the raft with Winkler soil shells carried out in the 3D Structure CAD, it is possible to introduce the PILE TYPE CONSTRAINTS, characterised by their own rigidity (a k of spring): this allows a calculation of the constraining reactions distributed over the raft which, in Is HyperFond, leads to the definition of the load-bearing capacity entrusted entirely to the plate, in accordance with the current Standard. Subsequently, IS PALIFICATE performs the verification of the piles, which NTC 18 allows to be considered as failure reducers. This design expedient makes it possible to reduce the number of piles and to have smaller diameters, with consequent economic savings.
